Upon statistical evaluation, we found that the Soaring Minds Insights on Wellness Program is indeed effective in educating and raising awareness in high school students about the stigma and information surrounding mental health. An examination was administered before and after participants attended the program. The administered exam was designed to test for underlying stigma as well as factual knowledge about mental health. Given that the student participants scored better – a score improvement from  10.69 (62.88%)  in the pre-program condition to  12.68 (74.59%)  in the post-program condition – we assert that the program is beneficial and will aid schools willing to adapt it.

The difference in mental health literacy scores before and after the Insights on Wellness Program is vast! In fact, the difference in heights between  Spring Temple Buddha  and the  St. Paul’s Cathedral , which is approximately a fifth of a football field, is the same difference.

Furthermore, the distribution of scores was MORE UNIFORM in the post-program condition  (σ2: 5.56;  Σ: 2.36)  than the pre-program condition  (σ2: 7.49;  Σ: 2.74) . The fact that the distribution was more uniform, accompanied with LESS VARIANCE, suggests that the program not only uplifts the knowledge of everyone involved, but

  BRIDGES THE GAP in knowledge amongst the students.
